Coralline algae

I’ve noticed that my coralline algae gets “pink” in color after a water change but fades back to purple a few days later. Has anyone else noticed this… any idea why it might happen?

Yup. This happens.

Due to the nature of algae, i dont know if this is indicative of the top layer dying and regrowing, or if its just a stress response, or something else. But its interesting for sure.
