My water seems to test perfect but my corals do not seem to grow.I see the pictures of zoos covering rocks and mine just stay the same.
Nitrate 0/ nitrite 0/ amonia 0/ phos 0/ ph 8.4 and cal 450-500
my dkh is low is dkh that important? Is there something else i should be testing for?My frogspawn keeps spliting but is mot getting any bigger in size and the mushrooms haven't changed at all.The green galaxia is spreading but will not turn green. I'm running 300w mh (1400) and 260 cf (dual actinic).Any suggestions would be great.

it took my corals 3 months to actually start taking off, they are still growing pretty slow.

Ritt the only coral that i have that is growing is the gsp you gave me.It is spreading like a wild fire!

here you go:

what test kit are you using for nitrates & phosphates?

dkh, calcium and magnesium play very important roles in calcification of corals. If you get your flow in order, par from your lighting (how old are yoru bulbs) dkh and magnesium, you can be assured of some good growth. You can tweak for optimum growth, but things should be growing if the basics are in line.

You know, sometimes you can have everything just right for your corals, but they still don't grow. It just happens, and it happened to me until I stopped feeding and got some random, but not too heavy of flow.

If your calcium is above 400 and DKH is 8-14, assuming you already have 1200ppm of Mg because your calcium level being at 400ppm, everything should be okay and grow at optimum rate.

A slow growing coral could still be a very healthy coral.
