I have broken down a 75 gallon set-up that I've had for the last few years because it was a source of constant problems. I've been through nitrate problems, protein skimmer malfunctions, sump problems, and mysterious die-offs. Long story short, I dislike the sump-type filter on the tank, though there is really nothing wrong with it. I just feel snake-bitten by the entire system. I am starting over from scratch with a different bow-front tank. Here are my questions.
1) What is the going rate for an Arctic brand tank chiller that has capability up to 125 gallons?
2) What is the going rate for a sump type filter that can also handle this capacity? It has a protein skimmer and a central compartment that can be filled with bio-balls or turned into a refugium.
I'm not really willing to give up the tank, stand, or lighting. I want to save those for a rainy day in a year or two when I have more time. However, I know I hate this filtration system and I want to start over in that department.
