Hey all,
I have a couple of rendom questions for you all,

First, i had two clowns that constantly fought until the smaller one jumped out of the tank and died... (i bought them both together when they were very young) and i recently got a new one. For some reason these have not fought at all and i have seen no signs of the smaller one submitting to the larger one but yet they are constantly together, they sleep together and pretty much do everything together. Are they a pair now??? Will they start fighting soon?? Both fish are smaller clowns (the larger one being about 1.5in and the smaller one being about 1in) or will the fighting resume again???

Also, if anybody knows how to frag ricordeas or knows of a good guide or website on how to do it, i really need it because my ricordea has grown 3 mouths over the past two months but refuses to split. I am thinking about cutting him but he has his foot firmly on a rock and i dont want to harm him too bad.

Finally, I have had a giant "bloom" of bubble algae recently. I have checked all my levels (0 trates, 5 trites, 0 phosphates and 0 amm.) and i do not understand why they are reandomly appearing in great numbers. I try to cut them out but they just keep appearing. I have 2 emerald crabs but they are always hiding and they never eat any of it. If you all could help that would be great.

Thanks in advance,
Ryan

1. clowns should be fine.....are they a pair? no clue, but it sounds good so far.

2. no shrooms here

3. lower your phates & trates, and yank them out as fast as you can. You can also try super glue on them.

1. They are showing signs of a pair but im just afraid that they will start fighting again.

3. Would Aiptasia x on them work?

I am interested in why you have nitrite reading on your test... Like ammonia, you should have zero. Nitrate, sure, but not nitrite.

I'm betting that "trites" is a typo, and OP means nitrates.

Kalk paste etc., won't do anything to bubble algae. Manual removal is the name of the game.

And if the clowns are getting along, that's good. Nobody can predict if that will change.

And cut those ricordeas at will, mine grow back from a tiny bit left on the rock.

They're pissed when you do it and get all slimy but leave them in a low flow place with some rubble to attach and they'll be fine.

The Rics will eventually split on their own... patience ;)

You *can* cut them, but given some time, they'll do it.
