Hey I'm not 100% sure this is posted in the right thread buy I'm looking at adding a cryptic zone or add an additional tank to make into a cryptic zone. Has anyone added a cryptic zone to their tank and if so did you notice any differences?

I know they make reactors, but I have a spare smaller sump i could plumb into my existing sump to add more water volume and enough space for all the live rock currently in my sump.
I would just plumb it externally. Save space and increase water volume in 1. Reactors are pretty cheap so I think it’s worth ot

the plan is to plumb in a 20g spare sump that i could just fill up with all the live rock in my current sump. just plan to paint it all black and make a lid to black out for it

you’re planning on running 2 sumps? Side by side or one on top of another?

ive got a 90gallon sump, then will use a small pump to push water into the cryptic sump, that will drain back into the main sump
I’m confused why you’re adding another sump to plumb into a reactor. You can just use a pump

im not using a reactor, im using a smaller sump that will be filled with rock and water and painted black with a lid to be a cryptic sump
Ah, I guess that would work. A second sump just seems a bit more complicated.
