Need your reef opinion Group.
I bought a 40 gallon breeder make me a new sump. In the sump, I would like to have a small section for sock filters, my 200NT classic reef octop protein skimmer, a chRayo or micro algae area then my D.C. 12000 return. The measurements of the breeder are 36 x 18 x 17. My reef octopus skimmer footprint is 14.6 x 10. 25 x 8. I want to allow for 6 to 7 inches from the end for my return.
Question
1. Should I use sock filters or something else like Marine Pure? Currently in my sump, I have the "Old" bio balls lol.
2. For the baffles, I was thinking 2 -17 1/4 x 11, 1-17 1/4 x 11 and 4- 5 x 8 for the sock filters.. Do you think those are too high for stagnant water levels ?
Please give me you honest opinion because I want to get the glass cut soon.
