Alright, so I am thinking that I am going to add some T5 supplements to my 300w maxspect razor. I already do not like the tank mounts on the Razor, so this was going to happen regardless of whether or not I was going to add T5s. I have seen a lot of information and feedback from users that are running both T5 and LED combos, and it all seems to point to positive results.
I picked up a T5 retrofit kit online a while back, it came with the end caps, reflectors, and ballast. The one thing that I have not figured out yet is what the spacing between the endcaps needs to be. I realize that it must fit a 48" bulb, but I am not sure how much play it needs to have, etc.. I would like to find a resource for what the exact dimensions are from screw to screw for mounting it.
Once I have the dimensions figured out, I will try and draw it up schematically in AutoCAD. I am thinking that I will probably go with EZTube for the assembly itself. You can get it in different powder coat colors, so I can get it in gloss white to match my stand. They also have all sorts of connectors (elbows, tees, etc..) for assembly. If that does not look like it will work well, I will just use extruded aluminum tubing such as 80/20.
Now if there was only someone who knew the exact dimension that is needed between those brackets....
