I am planning a upgrade in the next 6 months and want to get at least a 125G. I did some shopping and found glassgages.com and after some research decided that buying from them was a risk because they dont get very good reviews. I would like to have a tank at least 60" but I am not to concerned with width and height but i dont really want a tall for lighting purposes. I would like to buy local (GA area) but i have seen some outrageous prices. I can go 72" long but really want to stay 60" if possible. Any local custom shops or dealers that are fair priced any suggestions really would help.

Nothing local for glass tanks. MRC does acrylic but you need deep pockets for one. (not saying it's not worth it or anything.. )

Perfecto/Marineland makes a 60" reef-ready tank. Unless you want custom modifications, that's probably your best bet.

Marineland is phasing out their customs division over the next month, and partnering with Deep Sea Aquatics out of Texas for future customs - I think that may boost prices :( Deep Sea is a company that came about after Oceanic moved to Wisconsin when Central Pet bought them. Awesome quality, but a price to match.

I think he wanted a center island overflow, which would need to be custom done for sure. I am sure there are some people who make tanks in Florida. Isn't that new show about a company from there? Maybe check them out..

Living Color... I know they do acrylic - not sure about glass though. Serious ch-ching there...

Try to get something off-the-shelf. Talk to Jenn or another sponsor/dealer about ordering a custom tank from a large manufacturer if you are dead-set on glass.

If you want acrylic, go to MRC, hands-down.

I just got a quote on a 60" custom tank from MRC and it was slightly more expensive than a starfire tank of the same dimensions, BUT (1) they're local and (2) their acrylic work is absolutely stunning. Aesthetically, I find it far more appealing than glass personally.

(edit - the reason I didn't buy from MRC is that I found a used acrylic in the dimensions I wanted at a price I could not pass up.)

There are custom tank manufacturers locally, You just have to search..

Perhaps one, but not companies (plural). Been searching for six months.

You dont have to go custom. There are plenty of tanks that you may like. 60x24x24 and 60x36x27 are both marineland

Edit: our sponsors can order them
