I am having a hard time finding a sump that I want to fit in my stand. I have pondered the idea of going to Ace and having them cut me 5 panes of glass to make the sump and then some smaller ones to go inside the tank to make the sections.

Overall size would be 36" long x 12" high x 15" deep

the depth of the sump can be no more or less than 15" as that is as wide as the smallest part of the underside of the sump. I would like to try to keep everything hidden under the stand so adjustments may be needed.

The sides are punched out which gives me the freedom of sliding in the finished sump in on the sides.

I wouldnt mind doing acrylic but its to expensive I think.

Would anyone be willing to help a fellow reefer out with this project?

Thanks for your input.

You might be able to find a scratched acrylic tank and use the acrylic from it as a way to save money.:)

I have a 20 gal already built. Dimensions are 30" x 12" x 12". It has acrylic baffles. You can see a picture in my For Sale Thread at

I was working on a new build back in September and was considering a Trigger Systems sump. The dimensions that you listed are pretty similar to what I was looking for. Check this out:

If you buy a sheet of 1/4" or thicker acrylic, and don't mind the drive to my house, we could knock it out in a few hours. I think HD sells a 3 x 6 sheet for about 100 and you can get a full sheet from calsak for about 120 or so.

Been sick the past few days and havent been able to really function.

JBDreefs... If i can find the a good looking sheet from home depot or where ever, I'll hit ya up and we'll make one.

Just going to have to put this off a few more days though, i hate being sick

post pics when ya can, that might just be an easier route as well

36x12x20H sump. Water levels in the sum is about 14” . it measures roughly L to R 8", 18", 1", 1", 8". the baffles can be moved around.

Looks good, 18 tall is gonna restrict me from having access to it. Plus no skimmer section.

Thanks for the offer though.
