Cycling during a renovation

I have a new 40gal that is ready to cycle. I have rock that needs to cure in the tank, so I don’t plan on adding any livestock for at least 4 weeks or more.

In the next week or so, we will be starting some home renovations, including having hardwood floors refinished on the same level of the house where the tank is setup. I’ll need to be out of the house for 7-10 days during this time.

Question: if I am able to cover the tank and keep it safe from any construction dust, is there any concern of trying to cycle while the work is going on? Is there any danger in essentially leaving the water/sand/rock to cycle in attended for a couple days (I plan to stop by once or twice during the work to top off the water/test levels)?

Exactly- we have been through construction - cycle the rocks in a brute- throw in some flow - keep in your garage and you should be good to go. Don’t risk a full tank cycle.
