Does anyone have a damsel catching trick up there sleeve other than going spare fishing?
Need to get a few out of the reef tank and man not fun!

I was able to catch one by leaving the lights off for an hour or so at night (with all other lights off in the room so it's pitch black) and then turn the lights on full blast. They are stunned for several seconds..just have a net ready

I made something similar to this. <img src="

I made something similar to this.* Use a piece of plexiglass with a fishing line attached and sit back on your couch and wait to drop the door.
I wish i could find it or I would bring it over.

This is a great ideal if it works!! have to try this sometime....

Cut the bottom out of a clear coke bottle and attach it to your scraper handle (the holding end) (mines fiberglass) put sum food in a bulb syringe lower the bottle into the tank and add just a little squirt of food so they know that its in there. Ease it up and down and let a little escape and let them eat it without trying to catch them. Do it again with more food and hold the bottle just off the bottom when they come in drop it on them. Take a net and ease it down and cover the bottom as you raise it up. Once Damsels have been removed run to the toilet and FLUSH em! What a pain in the butt fish! I had pics on here a long time ago but I'm at the Firehouse and don't have access to them. Good luck!

Got them!, 5 out of 6 with my little homemade trap.
The bottle trick may have worked over time, but was taking to long for the fish to fine the hole(lol).
The mirror trick totally fail for me.
Didn't have a BB gun.
Didn't want to buy a lion fish.
Fish hook would have snagged my other fishes, and I didn't feel like getting zapped with the battery thing....lol.
So I came up with this simple and affective.

Store bought beta tank or similar, drilled cover, lead fishing weight from my tackle box to slam the door shut with fishing line going trough, rock inside to hold down the container and piece of shrimp in side.
Mag float holding down the fishing line outside and wait to spring the trap.
