I've been collecting all the pieces and parts for about 2 months. I took the pics as I went along. Just now getting a chance to post everything. I did the whole tank swap out last Saturday took me the whole flicking day it was a total mess but really if you added up the hours I spent actually working on this and not collecting parts I'd say it was a total of 24 hours at this point.Damn you been busy
And finishing touch a par reading from @jcook54This wouldn't have come together without being a supporting member of arc. I got alot of this from arc members. Here's why I got the
Tank stand from @MiggidyMike
Eggcrate from @Steve Burton
T5 hybrid from @Cook
Ai hydra from @scottw
Corals that are going into it some date back a while but still came from the original frags from @york1 @Steve Burton @Rhirano09 @jessezm @MiggidyMike and multiple others I wish I could remember so sorry if I forgot your screen name
Looks Great!!Mounted lights with a diy hanger and added some tester corals and reintroduced the fish and snails into there new home. @jcook54 will be stopping by for a par reading tomorrow so I can add all my frags for growout back into the tankView attachment 53229View attachment 53230View attachment 53231View attachment 53232
No the racks have a few inches of clearance on all sides so I can get my cleaning magnet around them. Also both racks are the same exact size so if I need to get underneath I can just stack one on the other. As far as the lights they will be hung higher and measured with a par meter to make sure they're not too close. I wanted the racks to be high enough for me to grab frags with tongs and keep my hand out of the tank.Looks Great!!
I use a 40 breeder for a frag QT but its not drilled. Its got a hob filter and small in sump skimmer which both make way to much mess. Someday I'll end up drilling and do something like you have here.
One thing i question, do the racks go all the way from front to back and side to side? I did that to mine in the begining and had to modify because I couldnt get under/around them to clean. I had to lower my rack considerable because most of my corals didnt like being that close to the lights. Just food for thought...
