I keep reading so many folks on RC indicate that the DC12000 just cant handle the head pressure for a basement install. I will have probably 9-10ft of head pressure if I go with a basement sump. I was originally thinking this pump would have no problem with that, but now I am rethinking. Does anyone here have practical experience with this pump in this environment?

This may mean I have a brand new, in box DC12000 for sale if this is a no go... :(

I use the DCT 12000 to supply my 120 DT. The top of the tank is about 10 to 11' above the sump and Im running it at 100%.

According to the flow chart it has a max head of 5m or about 15ft of head. If your return outlet is at 11ft above the pump, you are going to get at best 1/3 of the flow (about 5000 l/h or 1300gph)

Those are flow pumps, not pressure based pumps. If thats enough flow for you, it will work but it will not be very efficient vs a pressure pump at the same flow.

If its a basement install I would make very sure the outlet is only 10 or 11 ft above the pump. My setup is 14 ft from the pump to the return outlet, plus elbows and friction losses. That pump wouldnt even get water to the tank on my setup.

You may also want to look the the newer DCP line. There are 15000, 18000 & 20000 units.

Here's the info on the 18000:
Power: DC 24v 130-watt 110-120v 60hz, max flow: 4755gph, max head: 30ft.
It's $170 on amazon.
