I have had some chip off the back of the tank I don't think it will hurt anything but never hurts to be safe. Should I be worried? Attached is a photo 
Dead coralline algae?

I get the stuff flaking off all the time. I've found that coralline algae comes and goes in my systems. In my display it will grow in layers and I can chip of big flakes just by pressing on them, I've never noticed it being a problem. Heck, sometimes when people are looking to seed their tank with coralline algae I'll chip off a bunch and give it away.
