Hey everyone, quick question. So I have my red sea 750 in my formal living room, I'm a bit worried about humidity. Which would you recommend, a portable dehumidifier or a bathroom type fan in the ceiling? Thanks

What's the humidity level in the room? How does that compare with the rest of the house? Tanks certainly add to a room's humidity but I'd be curious to find out how much before I added anything to combat it. For a few months out of the year I'm glad to have the extra humidity. For another 2-3 months the central air runs so much based on the outside temp that I don't notice much added humidity.

This is my experience too. I have multiple tanks and a small greenhouse in my living room. There’s plenty of humidity; but it’s never uncomfortable.

What do you keep your temp at in your home? I keep mine at 75 and the AC running pulls the humidity out in the house, it stays around 50-55% in the warm months.

Winter months the heater dries the hell out of the house and I go through 5g about 3 days and my house still is between 30-40%.

Frankly, I almost appreciate the extra humidity most of the time. There really are only 2 months out of the year where it might be a slight issue; Spring & Fall for a few weeks each. At those time the HVAC system is dormant. A dehumidifier would add quite a bit of heat to the room and potentially end up costing for the AC to run more as well as the compressor on dehumidifier itself running.

Thank you guys for the feedback, I was just trying to be proactive based off of what I have heard about the amount of humidity from tanks. I will do my part now and actually order a humidistat and go from there! Thanks
