I went by my local nameless ARC sponsor store last week and they didnt have any Diamond gobis. They NEVER do and the one time they did the things were HUGE. I went by another nameless ARC sponsor store and they didnt have any either and I asked if they ever got any in and he said not usually. He said that he didnt usually "get fish for clients that dont last or are troublesome".

The only trouble ive had with these fish before is that they jump out of the tank. Other than that they have been easy to take care of and have been fairly hearty for me, other than making a mess with sand sometimes.

Does anyone know why they are hard to find in stores? And do you know why this one store wont carry them?

I can't imagine why they wouldn't. They are jumpers and they will spit sand on corals that are low as you said but other than that I think they are great fish. I had one in my 120G and wouldn't even hesitate to get another.

I've had my diamond goby(Diamond Jim) for going on two years. He is in a 75g and keeps the sand spotless. I don't keep any corals on the sand or he will cover frag plugs up or carry them to different spots. As for jumping I have one of Dave's (Arocholic)mesh covers. I have 8 wrasse's and they are jumpers too! I would not put one in a small tank, my 75 is almost to small. :D Holley

I've had them in the past and really liked them. They could make a mess sometimes but it never bothered me. I've tried for a while to get one but nobody seems to have them in stock or when they do they get sold quickly. Every sponsor store I've visited has offered to order one but I haven't taken them up on the offer. If it's something you really want just have a local vendor order it. I would have a long time ago but I've been spending my "fish allowance" on corals.

I usually carry diamonds but they seem to be hard to find right now . I do have some Tiger (wardi) gobies . They seem to be just as good at sifting sand

I love my diamond, lots of personality and will make short work of a sandbed

I haven't been to either place in a while, but it seems like every time I've been to either Marine Designs or Marine Fish they have had them. I think I've seen them at Pure Reef as well. I never got one, but I always thought the Golden Headed Sleeper Goby would have been a very cool alternative to a Diamond Goby.
