Need to raise mag. Which one is the best to do that job? Mag. Chloride or Mag. Sulfate? Bubba

I use magnesium sulfate aka Epsom Salt. Google Randy Holmes Farley homemade two part for instructions on how to mix it. Its way cheaper than buying store bought.

If you use only magnesium sulfate (eg- Epsom salt) both Craig Bingman and Randy Holmes-Farley, both PhD chemists and reefers, state that you risk ending up with too much sulfate (ionic imbalance).

They recommend adding both.

+1. No one likes ionic imbalances!

Yep, I use both using Randy's formula for CA reactor users.
