Disposal of Fluro Lights

How do we get rid of the old fluorescent lights? i.e. the new ones that we all started using to replace the old regular bulbs and all the compacts, T-5s, and other fluor lights? I saw something that they have some limited amount of mercury in them and should not be discarded into normal garbage destined for the landfills.

I would call your sanitation service provider and ask what there procedure is

they can probably juggle you around, but they can eventually tell you where you are suppose to dispose of them.

guys,
Went to Home Depot on Windward parkway and they took my old t -5 lights.
I mentioned the website stating they would take fluro lamps and she said sure and took them off my hands. I went to return counter inside front door.

I throw them as hard as I can at my neighbor's front porch and watch them shatter. They make a great "POP" sound. Uhh just kidding.
