I put together this quick and dirty hatchery for brine shrimp eggs when I realized my Bangaii pair is brooding a mouthful of eggs! It's not very elegant but in the event I can save any of the fry when the male releases them I want to atleast have some newly hatched on hand. I haven't tried this since raising rams twenty years ago so I am looking forward to trying. THe male should be releasing the fry in a few more days. I've talked to Sally and gotten some good advice about rearing the Bangaii fry, but if any one else has some tips, I am open to suggestions. Here are a couple pics of the DIY project (and one of the proud pappa!)

Yes, I just scribed the circles and used my adjustable hole cutter to be just shy of the diameter. Worked great and seem to be keeping them steady.

Linda,
I am going to order a few more of the power strips so if you need any more let me know! The brine shrimp eggs are circulated in the containers with salt and hatch in about 36 hours depending on temp. Then you have to seperate the egg casings from the hatched shrimp to feed to the fry. It's been a long time since I've done it so I'm starting early to get some practice. Hopefully, I can save some fry from this spawn and get a couple growing. I plumbed in a small acrylic tank to the main tank that I can use to hold the fry. We will see what happens! This first one is more trial and error to see how this will work. Hopefully the pair will spawn again next month.
