DIY Calcium Reactor

i am building my own calcium reactor. i need a way to keep the pieces together while i gule them. jade i was looking at your sump design i circled a silver piece can you tell me what that is because it looks like you used it to hold the pieces together while you guled them

thanks guys i will start on the reactor tomorrow and post pictures as soon as i get them ready
 
i have one more question. with the weld - on they said use pins to seperate the pieces while you put the gule in. what kind of pins?
 
Small "tee" stick pins. Like the kind they use with sewing. The ones they use to stick the fabric and pattern together.
 
Also small wire works well. Small guitar wire or piano wire. Anything really, really small.
 
i just got back from lowes and got my glass cut and bought my clamps all for $50. let the show begin

i am almost finised

i just need someone to tell me where to get something to drill a 1/2" hole in the front before i put it on so i can run the powerheads in

also would a mag 2 or mag 3 be better

Looks FABulous. Thanks for the update. I cant wait to see how it runs. I really wonder if the internal "dual chamber" design will be really effective at raising the PH a bit.
 
for the hole...just use a hole saw bit for a drill. you can grab that from HD or LWs also.
