With straight LED it really messes with the color. In person they look great but in pics they suck.

didnt know that never tried to take pictures under LED

how much are you paying for the acrylic? thinking about building a frag tank/table

That was all scrap I had. HD has it but I think you can get a better deal at McMaster Carr.

I just went to home depot to look around. I could make a mini frag tank 24x18x9 1/4 inch thick for about $70 in acrylic and silicone

24x18 sheet x3 $60
tube of silicone $9

then I would have to get them to cut a 1/4 inch off the pieces for the sides, buy a drill bit (guess I would use a tile/glass hole cutter), bulkhead/pumbing, pump.. lights

don't think its worth it

Silicone won't stick to acrylic. You need Weld On. Also, on acrylic you can use a standard hole saw. Just use water to keep it cool which you would have to do with a diamond bit anyway.

yea like rich said it has to be weld on or some other solvant welding compound ive used weld on 4 recently with good resluts and you cant use a diamond bit with acrylic because one it causes way more friction than a regular bit so it would start melting the acrylic much sooner and 2 the diamond bit would get clogged with acrylic dust and quit cutting after a minute or so

Rich, Great look downs. I will show you my cheap look downs. They are 4" pvc, or you could use larger and acrylic that I buy from HD. I use my chop saw to cut the PVC to length. I use superglue gel to attach. Does not seem like Weldon binds well between the two. If they hit the floor the Acrylic usually pops off. The superglue no problem. They work like a charm, I would be lost without them.

Thought about that but I had the acrylic in the garage and wanted to include a bracket that the camera could easily be mounted too.

Edit: By the way Glen, who is Whitney and why is she writing on your walls? hehehehehehe

I figured someone would see the graffiti. My daughter used to play basketball and one night they had a team bonding night and I let them write on the walls. Of course before the tanks were installed.
