DIY Magnetic Frag Holder

I am trying to make some magnetic frag holders to mount frags to the side of my aquarium. Can I use magnets like these?

I just want to make sure the magnets I use are safe for my reef tank.

No. Those will rust. You need to look for high quality full epoxy covered ones. Cheap alternative is to look for someone selling old mag floats for cheap. And just use the whole think and attach egg crate to it

I used some of those, but coated with super glue then epoxy, to DIY some Sun JVP power heads to magnetic mounts. So far still good after several years. Super glue alone didn't work so well.

You can use Weldon 40 I love the stuff to coat magnets

Too many companies out there making these with proven track records of no rust. Don’t save a few bucks to potentially lose an entire tank.

What kind of epoxy? I literally just bought those magnets to replace a suction cup on one.

I used Instant Ocean Hold Fast epoxy

You can also use suction cups while you figure out the magnets
