I'm starting a 210 reef tank on stand , I have MH light that are to be hung from the ceiling or wall , what I need to know is , how high from the tank the lights needs to be or what's to close , is theres a such thing of lights being to close to the tank

It depends on how many lamps and more importantly the depth of the tank and the wattage of the lamps. YES, you can have them too close. You'll torch your corals and heat will soon become an issue.

I'll let someone else chime in on the answer. I just know that would be a question they would ask. I run two 250w over my 25 inch deep tank. They sit about 10 or 11 inches off the water.

It is best to hang them around 9-10 and eventually adjust them (up or down) to spread the light evenly in your tank. More specific answers will depend more specific descriptions of your light.

1. What kind of reflectors
2. What kind of bulbs
3. What kind of coral are you planning to keep

Most of these are really trial and error and your preferences.

250 w Radium 20K bulbs, CoralVue Dimmable E-ballast & LB large finished pendants. I'm planning on all types of corals & mybe clams
