Diy moonlight ??

I have been thinking lately about making some led moonlighting that follows the moon cycle.

The question is
Would 3 10w chips be to bright for my 220. They will only be 100% two days a month(full moon).

no the brightness would be about what you would want (as long as its dimmed down a little most of the time like you said) in a tank that size but you would probably want to go with 10 3 watt chips to spread the light better across the whole tank. and its easier to find a dimmable driver for 3 watt chips like the crees where you would most likely have to build one for the 10 watt ones.
