Please excuse my mess around it but basically I took 4 inch pvc drilled three holes and stuck in pvc pipe connections. One whole towards the center of the tube I ran a one inch pipe with a gate valve attached for the water to escape. Another hole I attached a 3/4 inch pvc pipe with a basically powerhead with a venturie air connection going into the intake while I put a small airline with a small air pump into another hole on the powerheads to force more air through. Then the third hole I attached a 90 gph pond pump that I had laying around just for added water pressure. I played with the flow for a little while with my gate valve until I got the top of the water column right under the top of the collection tube. Then I put an elbow joint on then another elbow joint dropping the skimmate into the collection container. I know that's all kinds of jumbled and crazy sounding but after the skimmer broke in its been skimming great. Nice rich frothy nastiness being pulled out. Quite a bit of it I might add.
