Well I started with a $8 plastic mailbox from HD.I had to cut allot of the length off and some ribs on the bottom that were used to attach the mail box to the post, cut in a TIGHT hole for the Tunze, and then I held it in place with a strong magnet. It works pretty good for $8!!!
I'll be uploading a link to a video soon.

Tunze 6101,Here's a link to video.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yTg2AbgZ0G8">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yTg2AbgZ0G8</a>
The video is with it in my 75gal fuge to test it.

7095? I thought they couldn't run on intervals slow enough for a wavemaker?

I might pick one of these up and copy you. Wish I had seen it earlier, just got back from Home Depot (hose to icemaker/water in the back of the fridge sprung a leak, had plenty of hose, just not the fittings). Did they have any smaller mailboxes that might work, like one for a newspaper?

You should try this with the DIY wavemaker control I posted a few days ago.

This was the smallest mailbox they had,I didn't see any newspaper boxes.

Will this work differently than the Tunze controller?

Well what is the quickest interval the 7095 can get to? To get the see-saw motion in the tank, you need a controller that can turn the pump on/off in intervals under 1sec. I didn't think the 7095 could do this. If it can, then there wouldn't be any benefit except that you could sell the Tunze controller, or just use it as backup.

I think 1 second is the quickest but IDK.I haven't really played around with it much,I just built this last night and installed it in my tank this morning.I know Tunze recommends that you use two pumps facing each other set on different intervals, one at 100% then 30%,the other at 80% then 40% to create a nice wave action.
I'm not really trying to get a real wave crest, just a little more natural motion in the tank.

Just wondering how water is getting back into your box? Part of the wave motion obtained is from the water displacement (the reason for the box). It's like taking a gallon and moving it back and forth in the aquarium every second).

You can see the clear box in this video and how the water fills and empties the box rapidly.

It does it the same way the one in the video does.It blows water out, turns off and the water rushes back in the outlet of the Tunze. It creates a negative area in the box and the water has to go back into it.
