Do any coral dips kill algae?

I have a small colony of zoas I recently got which are on a piece of rubble. The new colony has sprouted some green hair algae. Normally I'd remove the polyps and remount them on a clean plug, but with the rough surface of the rubble I'm afraid I'd damage the coral trying to remove it.

I've never heard of dips for anything other than animal pests, and wondered if there was such a product.

Coral RX says it takes care of algae! I dipped all of my rocks in a solution once. It was noticalbe but would need more than one dip!

Coral RX may take care of some if it says that... but I dipped several frags I got at the frag meet in a solution of it and three of those frags show bubble aglae now. And they are the ONLY instances of the stuff in my tank.

These are some fairly valuable zoas... I'd be interested in hearing how safe that is for the corals.

Not saying I would do it but there are a few thread here and more on other foums about this. The general census is, if you dip corals, only zoas.

Regarding Coral Rx, I know that it's effective on bryopis. I don't know about other algaes, but I can find out. ;)

I found this post on dipping corals in tank water dosed with hydrogen peroxide.
