Do I Have Enough Pods?

I kept a mandarin goby for about 9 months (until a tank crash) and he was always picking at the rocks, and looked like he was eating. He also ate some frozen food, so got pretty plump and seemed to enjoy life.

I just recently added a Copper Band Butterfly and then another Mandarin Goby, who both seem to be picking at pods. I have still never actually seen any in my tank...but I'm assuming that's what they have been picking at for a few weeks?

My question is, what can I do to guarantee more pods breeding in my tank, or how can I add more?

Thanks!

You can look for them after the lights go out, wait a while then get a small flashlight and look at your rock/sand . To increase pods increase their hiding spots where fish cant access them. It will also help if you have a refugium or a sump where they can breed with no predation.

Yeah, tank info would be helpful.

75g tank w/ about 75lbs of live rock, 15g sump with live rock as filtration and a sponge between skimmer and return pump compartment. However, the rock is not always under water. The rock is in the area where bio balls used to be, which were replaced after lots of advice from fellow members. Should I add some live rock under the area where the live rock is currently?

The mandarin seems to be grubbing away happily. Just want him to stay that way.

pods love rubble rock, make a few pyramids of rubble.
pods love macro algae, so get different types in your display and chaeto in your fuge
pods love a wall of glass not scraped
pods love new rock, so change some old rock now and then
pods love a little LIVE phyto now and then

they don't like bristeworms.....or pumps....
