I picked up some peppermint shrimp to take care of a bad aiptaisia problem (which they did, and amazingly at that). The aiptaisia has been gone for a while, but I've had a very small colony of five to eight mojano anemones.

I just looked at the tank and noticed they're all gone! The only thing I can think is that the peps got hungry and started munching on the other nems. anyone have experience with this?

i have the same problem with a few small mojanos.....bout the size of a pencil eraser....and i wish my peps would eat them....

Well, I think mine did! They're all gone and that's the only thing I can think of.

Heres a kicker... I bought a huge one a while back... ate aptasia like a champ. . . but when it came to majanoe, they are picky. Mine will not eat majano unless i stab it with a needle... but once they start to feed , i dont see the majanoe in the area .

Maybe I'll try the needle thing....theres only 3 but I know how they multiply....

I've had some pep shrimp that eat them fine and some don't. I really don't know, but I guess just like us, some are just picky and don't like them. Glad they took care of yours!

I've also read online where a guy used a syringe to shoot boiling RO water into the Majano which caused it to release enough that he could scrape it off and pull it out of the water.

I hadn't either, and I'm not completely sure this is what happened. It's just odd that after all the aiptaisia was gone, the whole colony of mojanos disappeared.

I could be completely wrong, but was wondering if anyone has actually had experience with this.
