Do torches drop buds to reproduce?

I know they split at the trunk but my torch is nice and healthy and I noticed this bubble starting to form. It looks like it's about to drop. Picture below.

Can't really see what's going on in the picture. If it drops a head, something is causing a survival mechanism to trigger.
 
So my torch closed up and noticed its splitting!!!

I will say it's very exciting to see, it closed up more than the picture and the separation is very nice.

I've never had my torch drop heads but never seen it close up to split either! Guess I don't pay enough attention...
If it looks healthy you should be good :)
 
Not sure if this is even valid, but the head is on the far side of the split line. Maybe it's just part of the tissue adjusting?? Just guessing here.

Yeah new torch. Flow is good I had my jebao's pulsing higher but it was getting angry and closed up. Got the placement and flow right and it's been happy since. Obviously since its splitting.
