Do you keep up with water change?

Regularly, I changed 10% weekly. The weather has been crazy cold. I am lazy to make & mix water. I can't keep up with water change regularly anymore. I change only 5% two or three weeks. All corals & fishes are still healthy

That's what my Friday mornings are for. Short term you should be fine pending stock load and filtration

I stay in the routine. Make water Thursday, Mix Friday, change Saturday. 15-20% every week.

Depends on the system. My little all-in-ones require weekly 10-20% RELIGOUSLY or problems seem to crop up (nitrates, algae, etc.) even with upgraded skimmers and components.

On my bigger system with large sump, seperate fuge, big skimmer, etc. it appears I can get away with alot of procrastination I bet the guys running remote DSB and stuff like that can get away with skipping maintenance too once the system "cures". Either way, I still shoot for weekly 10% PWC's.

Im setting mine up to Do 5 min water changes almost hands free., I just cut a bag of salt hit a few switches friday . hit 2 more switches sat. .Have an auto top off for my sump water level.

Jin AKA futureinterest that hardly logs on anymore once told me he never change his water. I didn't believe him but many other told me the same about his tank. He has one of the most colorful tank around. You probably have seen some pictures of his tank. With that being said, I try to change my water every 2 weeks. However with proper dosing and excellent export mechanisms (UV, protein skimmer, ect..). I think you can get by with longer water change.

Sorry for the thread jack...but since I stepped up to a larger tank, I would definetly like to stretch this out a little. Its really no more trouble, but it is becoming costly. On my 75 gallon I change 20% every two weeks religiously. The water volume on my current system is over 250 gallons. (and for now I still have the 75 up also)

Anyone have any tricks or methods to stretch this out to say....monthly water change???

44 gal water change on 200 tank ( 20% ) once a month and 2 gal a day in evap top off water.

Not enough compared to what you guys are doing here? :unsure:

All my stuff is good though. I do have cyano issues...... but it is a some what new sand bed.

10% weekly water change on my 65 gallong reef (80 gallon total system). I typically have a 20gallon resivour of RODI water at all times, but with the cold weather the past couple of weeks, I have passed on the water cahnge for this week, as I am running low on avaliable water :yuk:

20% every quarter or so. I wish I would do them more often but just can't seem to get in the groove.

I have a 90 gallon fuge with a 3" sand bed and 1/2 filled with live rock as well as an unlit 20 gallon tank packed full of live rock so my nitrates are always 0 but I think there are other benefits other than nitrates to doing them more frequently.

Lots of live rock and a medium deep sand bed in the display and fuge works for me.

I see in your list of tanks a 55 gallon cryptic zone. Do you still maintain that as well? I have contemplated setting one up myself.

I have the tank on line but I wasn't able to maximize use of it. I was planning on filling it with rock that I would take out and scrub clean every once in a while or use some egg crate for a base for the sponges and filter feeders to grow on. Problem is that access to the top of the tank is limited (under the display) so I can't really get in and out of it too well. Right now it just has a few rocks in it and tube worms growing all over it.

I do 10% (3gal on my 30) every saturday morning and once a month add an additional 10%wc during the week.
