I have some Nori that has been in a zip loc bag for about a year. Looks good, but I was wondering if this stuff spoils? thanks.

Me too. I have green, red/brown and purple I rotate along with whole leaves of dried seaweed. They all are around for awhile before I run out. If you notice any mold, discoloration or anything you are not sure of on it then toss it. Too cheap to risk the health of anything

Not sure , but I buy mine in bulk at the Asian Markets, and store it in the refrigerator....I know for a fact that Ive fed my fish Nori that I have had for atleast a year or two... Stuff still smells the same as when I first got it...

I don't refridgerate it and have found that it will go stale over time. I've had fish refuse to eat it when it was really old. So, it was either spoiled or the fish were spoiled.

Sounds like your fish are spoiled or you are buying some rank Nori... Kinda weird I have never experienced it going bad.

I have some new and old Seaweed Select (algae sheets). My tang knows the difference. He will only nibble a little on the old....

once it's open, it will become stale as moisture and O2 get absorbed. It should be crisp & brittle.

I have some that is old and as MysteryBox mentioned -- it's dry and brittle. I still feed it and they still eat it. When it hits the water is softens up. Frankly, I don't think they like it as much as if it was fresh -- but they still eat it.

Aaron at Nemo told me today that if the Nori gets soggy and moldy then it is bad, but otherwise if it stays crispy it is still OK, like Ralph said as well.
