I use a 5 stage RO/DI setup for my water making with a sediment filter, 2 carbon blocks, a mixed bed resin filter and the RO membrane. I have been runing for about 6 months and I am kinda surprised I am not seeing anything dirtying up my sediment filter or any color change from my resin filter. I check the TDS level every week when I am making a bunch of water and it is always 0. What should I expect on time for these filters and what is your experience? Am I missing something that TDS doesn't pick up?

My last house, I changed all the filters once a year. My sediment filter never really got dirty, so the source water was pretty clean to start.
My current house, I change the sediment filter every other month. It gets pretty nasty, it turns brown. If you’re showing 0 TDS on your reading and sediment filter pretty clean, then there is nothing that needs to be done, except an annual carbon block and sediment replacement. I believe you can keep the same DI resin as long as it isn’t changing but I always changed it anyway cause the kit always came with it.
I have a pressure gauge right before the ro membrane. I change the sediment filter out when pressure drops more than 5 psi from my normal pressure. That is usually about once a year. I will change the carbon filters out at the same time. DI resin gets changed out when color has changed in about 70-80% of the resin
I actually have a whole house sediment filter that's 5 microns and that initial filter means my 1 micron 'sediment' filter never really gets dirty. However, the 5 micron sediment gets absolutely filthy. If I didn't have that, I think I'd have to change the 1 micron filter out monthly.
