Dosing Kalk

I just received by BRS unofficial group buy and i got a 4.5 lb high purity kalkwasser. I want to fully understand this product before I attempt to use it. My plan is to add some to my ATO tank and dose it that way, i dont use dosing pumps so this is my plan.

How much to add per gallon of water? 1 tsp?
Best practices when using this stuff in an ATO set up?

Calcium sits around 400-450 most of the time, never falls below 400 (so maybe i dont need to use it?) but I am struggling with PH, settles at about 8.0-8.1, I really want to keep it at a constant when possible without adding extra equip - will kalk help with PH? I use the seachem buffer for PH but i dont want to raise my alk everytime I use it..

I keep mostly lps and softies, only 1 sps and a big fat maxima clam.

Couple questions.
What is your alk? And how much does it drop in a day?
Are you just planning to use kalk only keep your ph even? Cause that won't really work. Ph swings alot due to many things including O2 saturation, photosysthesis, even the number of people in your home can alter the ph. And kalk is a way to supplememt alk and calcium. It is normally an alternative to calc reactors.
Personally if it is only shifting by .1 I would not worrie about it. That is just me though.
