Any ideas? I love the skimmer, but don't see how to drain the scum cup without removing the neck and cup at threads.
 
Drill into the side and add a barbed thread where you can connect a waste line to drain it into a bottle or bucket..
 
Yeah...that was my plan of action. Thanks for validating. I don't like drilling hard plastics, but that the only way to go I guess.
 
if your nervous about drilling take a solder gun to it to make your hole
 
Tony...after you have the hole...if you want to tap it, I've got a very good assortment of taps. I just tapped a normal 1/4" tube connector to my RODI water tank. No problems.
 
Forstner bit with slow revolutions or a 'plastic' bit (US Plastics). You can make a 'plastic' bit by intentionally dulling the flutes of a wood bit or just using a cheap dull drill bit.

FWIW-The best I have ever found was using my 600 watt CO2 laser, but I don't have that any more :(
