I got my first reef about a year ago, but had to get out of the hobby about 6 months ago due to a busy schedule and travel. I will be moving from Augusta to Atlanta (the highlands) next week to start my medical residency. I decided to get back into the hobby a couple weeks ago and purchased a 20 gal IM Fusion. I loved the footprint and expected the "small" footprint to be easier to maintain. That said, my entire setup is geared toward ease of maintenance. I am planning FOWRL for a couple months before I start thinking of corals. I also decided to build a custom tank stand with matching TV stand for my new condo, so I will also be posting that build here as well. So far I have a lot of my hardware purchased, tank leak tested (it passed), and stands coming along.

Setup:
Tank- IM Fusion 20 gal
Tank upgrades- Custom Caddy x2, Spin Stream x2, MJ1200 pump, Krylon-ed the included mesh cover black for aesthetic purposes
Stand- built with help from jpines
Light- Radion xr15w pro w/ RMS
Filtration- Chaeto with MagnaFuge LED, Minimax desktop reactor with GFO +/- carbon, Chemipure Blue
ATO- Tunze nano
Rock/sand- Caribsea South Sea rock (dry), Caribsea special grade (live sand)

As mentioned above, I want to make this tank as easy as possible and am strongly considering Petco boxed seawater for initial fill and WC's. I know this is more expensive, but I really like the convenience factor and flexibility it brings--especially with condo living.

Will get some pics of the build when I can.

Here are some pictures from the build...

Took a while to finally get moved in to my new place before I had time to worry about setting up the new fish tank. As of 6-15-15, the tank is currently filled and is hopefully cycling. I added biospira on day 2 to provide a nice kick start--will probably wait 3-4 weeks before adding any livestock.

Speaking of livestock... I am thinking 2 clowns, a small wrasse (pygmy vs 6 line), and a goby/shrimp pair. Any suggestions/insight appreciated--specifically on the appropriate order of adding to the tank.

I also have to give a shoutout to the customer service at Ecotech (Alex). I have heard superior things about their service on many forums in the past, but never experienced it--until a couple days ago. I bought a Radion xr15 from a prominent member of another forum a couple weeks back for a fair price. When it arrived, it arrived without one of the mounting screws... no big deal, called Ecotech and they agreed to send the piece 2-day shipping. Well, I got my tank set up a couple days ago and started playing with the light. Ecosmart Live was a PITA and told me I needed a firmware update, so I tried installing the latest update and half way through it told me a "fatal error" occurred and could not complete the request. This happened over and over again on each retry and I got the dreaded "red/white" radion flashing signal which basically bricked the light. I called Ecotech the next morning and Alex tried to talk me through some over-the-phone fixes--to no avail. After about 10 minutes of trying, he said he wasn't going to give me a hard time and that they would just replace the light. So, I have a restored faith in quality customer service and companies that stand behind their products. The opinions on Radion lights vary drastically, but good customer service is worth a little extra IMO.
