Looks like PFO is doing it again, the are coming out with the Galileo LED illumination system. It has about 50% of the quanitity of LEDs with no control other than day white on-off and day blue on-off, and moon lights. It is designed to compete with VHO, PC and low end T5 units.

It's suppose to come out about mid-late October. Haven't seen the specs yet, but I'm sure it'll make your mouth drool.

The Galileo hood will be available in 9", 24",30" and 48" lengths. Thats the only other info i got.
 
Fewer LEDs? My biggest problem with the current fixtures is all the empty space as they are. LEDs do not cover any surface area what-so-ever... getting a fixture with fewer is a waste IMO.
 
put in more leds and less features, just on/off

but the price, wow the price, I still wont buy one until they are down near halide prices

or once my electric bill savings make up for it in a year
