I have some MP40 power heads that need to be cleaned. Is there a solution I can use to soak them in to get rid of all the crud?

pretty much, the longer you let it soak, the easier it is to clean, however keep in mind vinegar is acidic

FWIW...I throw mine in a 5 gallon bucket solution of vinegar and water and let them run overnight. CLARIFICATION..... Attach the dry side outside the bucket!!!

theres also some stuff called magic clean by hydor although i think its spelled differently. its supposed to be safe for pumps without causing any corrosion. i used it on my mp10s when i was starting up my new tank and it worked great.
