Just our of curiosity.....has anybody here used an Eshopp skimmer? If so, what was your impression of them? Can you compare it to any other skimmer?

please elaborate as to why you draw that conclusion. Are they hard to adjust? Noisy? Or they just plain don't work compared to others? And with that, what would you compare it to....a Coralife skimmer maybe?

Ok-

1. Wedge pipe- I don't like the wedge pipe, they are hard to get "just right"
2. The pump- I have seen quite a few of these in action, and within a few months, many had pump issues.
3. Required water level- they MUST be in atleast 8-10 inches of water, other wise the pump isn't strong enough to properly function the skimmer
4. Collection cup removal- very difficult, can often result in flinging skimmate all over the inside of your stand
5. The cone models- the acrylic is not extruded. It is wrapped and sealed... Well supposed to be sealed, I've seen 2 split at the seams

Edit: I'd probably compare it to a seaclone. Coralife skimmers are a step up from eshopps, IMO.

Haha!!! I have two or three "dead" eshopps skimmer bodies laying around my house. I keep thinking I'll make something cool out of them.... Not a skimmer. :)

I have the psk-150 skimmer by eshopps. I hated it at first. Was alittle hard to dial/break in. But after about 2 weeks i became a fan. For the money i think they are good. Not the best out there but again for the money i do like it. Im upgrading to a 120 and ill probably buy the psk-200 unless i see something better in the for sale section. Ur welcome to stop by and see it in action.
