I saw something pop up in another thread and didn't want to hijack it with this but I do think it's interesting. Euphyllia are LPS but they can vary so much from tank to tank. For example, here's a frag that I had in my tank for a while. Just a regular green hammer, nothing outstanding or odd. Just a regular branching green hammer:

Here's what it looked like in @ZapataInc tank. I don't know if it's the exact same frag but the only euphyllia I've had in the past 10 years have all been from one mother colony so if it isn't the exact frag from above, it's a clone:

I just thought it was cool that the exact same coral can look so very different in different tanks.

Talking about this frag....Has anyone ever seen their hammer lose an individual hammer head (not a full head but like a single "strand") Ive seen this happen a few time. Also I got another hammer a few months ago and it looks like its puffing up but not as much.

Just made this exact point in another thread. Different lights, different water parameters, different flow, different placement, etc. Its what's so hard about this hobby sometimes. I want all these gorgeous sticks I see out there but am terrified once I get them, I'll never get them to look as good as the day I pick them up.

Led lighting has been the most profitable advance in technology for coral farmers in a LONG time.
All of a sudden a green mushroom becomes “toxic green hulk”

Can't remember exactly what he or she said but someone made this same argument the other day. Something to the effect of "I'm naming the next coral I see a super butthole golden lightning toxic bounce coral and charing $1k"
