Exotic marine sump kit

Kinda DIY kinda not
Day one reseal the tank
I’ll water test tomorrow
And install the baffles
I’ll update as I go

It’s a 55
They have 20 long 30 and 40 gallon kits
Triton method or filter socks

Passed the water test and baffles are in
Not quite as hard as I thought it would be
The kit comes in about 25 or pieces NO INSTRUCTIONS
But it’s done
Now for it to cure
I’ll install this weekend

When I was coming up it was

Go to home depot and get some acrylic cut and hope for the best when you install the baffles on water test..

I didn’t want to try and do a adjustable skimmer chamber and filter sock rings

How many chambers did kit come with? Does it have refugium? Trying to tell in pics but for some reason not showing properly on my phone

It’s got a refugium
This kit is designed to go
Overflow then into the sock chamber
Then to the fuge then to the adjustable skimmer chamber then to the return
I’ve never had a sump design this way . I’ve always done overflow to skimmer chamber
My skimmer is huge so I had to sacrifice some fuge space but not a lot
All in all it’s a well thought out kit so so quiet

I forget his real name, it's been over 5yrs, TaylorPilot on R2R started Exotic Marine as a side business around that time. Initially it was just overflows and expanded to the sump baffle kits. He builds quality stuff that he stands behind. I loved the custom 60" overflow I got from him.

No doubt about quality product
My only thought or complaint is if I hadn’t built several sumps before then I might have been confused. There’s no instructions no pieces were labeled
