i just read that soft corals dont eat phytoplanktons? is this true from your experience? what do you feed you softies for growth?

What kind of softies? Most are photosynthetic and should not require any additional feeding, but rics, paly's and zoas will eat mysis, brine shrimp, cyclopeeze and pull stuff in general out of the water column. i get great growth from mine just from what they get through feeding the fish.

About the only thing coral wise that gets fed in my tank is I might spray some food directly at my duncans once a month..

This is BARF. :D

Barf is a food that Tim at Keen Reef makes. Its like chicken nuggets for the reef tank. Lots of pieces parts and parts is parts.

I tried some this week, works well.
