Thanks Ralph
This thing is going to take me awhile to figure out.
I do like the auto focus : )
I hope to get a macro lens soon to get some close ups

looking good!!
Quick question, how did you get so many pics in your post? every time I post pics, I can only get 8 pics downloaded. Am I doing something wrong? how did you import these pics?

Nice man, I need to come take a look at the tank some time. You have lots of JF Jack o lantern Lepto. Was there a Fake O lantern in there as well? What are the zoas in the upper left of the third pic?

Cool ,I am fragging some stuff up so you can drop in a week or two and check out stuff
That jack o lantern was from the live sale with jason fox and the other is called after burner or something close it is a look alike but a lot less $$ I still like it. The zoas in that pic were sold to me in a pack and they were called Alien eye but I don't think they are I think they are so I am not real sure of those. I know most all of my stuff and were it came from but I keep the odd ball stuff if I like it.
I have a different sps tank also.I just added a few spa to this tank to see how they would do with mostly zoas and Los and Led lighting.

Nice initial pics man! It is challenging to take good pics in the tank but fun too. Nice choice for camera. As far as closeups, cant you just zoom in the pic in your software to get a close image? I would think your camera has a high enough resolution/megapixel to pull it off. Ryan at Reefworks gave me a huge tip of taking a pic of a piece of white pvc inside the tank at different light levels to use as multiple references for setting your white level and getting pics that look more like your coral in person. Good luck and looking nice!

Thanks for the info I an going to try it your way. This was while the pumps were going and I just really did a point and shoot. . It really is kinda hard with the Leds but I have another tank with T5 I can swap over to take photos but that's a pain.
I hope to get better with a little practice. Also great idea using the software to tweek the pic closer.

Thanks Reggie,
So far this is mainly a softie tank which seems to be pretty easy to maintain now if I could learn a few tricks to help my SPS tank grow. I go back and forth. I really like the Mushrooms, Zoas, Hammers, etc but I still love my Milles:D

yea post any questions in the photography forum and those guys will be very helpful. I kept posting and posting until i finally started taking some quality pics thanks to them.

Couple of hints for shooting under the LEDs. Remove the UV filter on the lens if you have one on. Use a yellow lens filter to neutalize some of the blue tint you get. This keeps the "pop" from the blues but makes it closer to what you see with the human eye. Down side to the yellow filter is that it does take a bit more light to get a good shot. I'm playing with building a handheld LED "spot light" that would let me add extra light to the tank while taking pics.
