Here are a few really cool fish I saw last week on a couple snorkel trips.

Beautiful pics. I wonder what type of tangs those are in pics 3 and 5?

I saw a few purple tangs but these in this picture look like a kole tang and they would go along the bottom and eat tons of sea weed as they swim around. I am not sure of the exact name but they were beautiful

Man I will never forget snorkeling in the Bahamas. Took a 2 hour sailboat ride to an incredible reef, was just surrounded by a rainbow of colors down there. We were given flotation belts, but me and my brother swam off and ditched ours. It wasn't deep, maybe 15 feet. We couldn't stay down for long, but we sure tried.

Yes but I could not get pictures of the purple tangs . They were different than the ones here in the pics.
Its kinda hard getting a good picture because as soon as you get close they scatter :D
The tangs in the pictures were a type of kole or sohal tang I believe

Great pics!!! Next time you take a trip out of the country (not saying it's nothing fun in here) try Puerto Vallarta, you can find great diversity and clear water even just shoreline, I still amazed from what I had the opportunity to see just snorkeling. Enjoying that and walking in white sand on the beach it worthed every penny you expend.

Thanks for the great pics! Awesome to see fish in their natural habitat. Ive been on a few cruises but never snorkeling. I am thinking I should try after seeing your pics.

Very nice. I am envious.

Best snorkeling I have done was in Grand Camen. But on a stop at Paradise Island I dove down to get a picture of something. Once close I decided it wasn't worth the shot. Instead of coming back up I turned around and saw a 4' Barracuda posing perfectly about 6' away. I got a great shot of him and then high tailed it out of there. LOL. That was about 14-15 years ago so it's not a digital picture.

It was a nice cruise and I would suggest a snorkel trip for a fun time . I would recommend
Taking your own mask and snorkel . They do require you to wear a vest but they supply you with fins and a vest . You can let the air out of the vest so you can get down lower and when you get tired you just blow up the vest and float along but take lots of sun block
After 2 days we were sun burnt and skipped the last day

And a big fishing pole for that Barracuda

Thanks Ralph , we had a blast. My kids really enjoyed this trip.
With my son being 18 he tried his hand with me gambling and with the snorkel trips it made for a fun week. He actually did pretty good on the tables. But his face went a little pale when he wanted to feel like he was stepping it up put 50 on a bet and lost and he decided he wanted to keep his money instead of donating it to the ship : )

Thanks Reggie,
I did see some cool corals down there but funny thing is they were not near as cool as if I was snorkeling in your tank : )

I will have to look Puerto Vallarta up and give it a shot some day

Purple tangs are endemic to the Red Sea, that's why they are so dang expensive. The Atlantic blue tang can have that yellow tail and they look pretty similar.

Great pics, I have always loved snorkeling and diving in the Bahamas.

Ahh I didn't know that . They looked pretty similar so I was thinking purple Tang but then again I did think to myself if they were swimming around do close why did they cost so dang much : )

Hey That's CoCoCay its Royal Caribbeans private island / beach. It was nice and the water was great.
Last cruise to Bahamas was on Carnival and they have a Island called Halfmoon Cay which is nice also. Along with Nassau we snorkeled there one day and they were all really cool

Half Moon used to be owned by Holland America. I have pics of the angle fish nibbling on my wife's legs in that bay. LOL.
