My poor BW clown got sucked into the overflow and got stuck in the netting. So he died i just fed then 2 hours ago. Anyway to stop this from happening again

Sorry for your loss. Might be a type of stiff mesh screen you could place in front of the overflow to prevent that. May have to get creative.

One of my clowns went through my overflow. Luckily he's still small so he went right through from the tank chamber into the middle reservoir and managed to avoid the hole to drop into my sump.

Ive now changed the positioning of my overflow so its impossible for anything to go over the teeth.

Not sure about 3 clowns....

I'm trying to visulize the setup. You are talking about a standard overflow...correct? Not an overflow box. Top of the overflow should be toothed for water to go through which will help. Mesh should work though just watch your water flow and make sure you are still getting enough flow through it..

Ill snap a pic. Its a HOB overflow box. Came with my 90 its rated for 600 gph.It was low as i had the water lower for a time period to help move things and getting it settled. so he could easy swim by the box and get sucked in. He was small

Easy solution for the box!!!! Place live rock rubble into it and fill it up to the top. Don't leave any wide spaces for the fish to get into. This works like a charm!!

Temporarliy it may work but it floats so not sure if it will stay long term...also it's alive and needs lighting. As long as the box is filled with no wide spaces, you'll be fine. If you lived closer, I could give you some LR rubble to cover you.

Not sure. You'll have to be the judge on that one. You get the idea about what will work and it won't be that hard to fix.

Iight. Ill see what i can do. Just weird he did this. been in the tank for almost a month.. His Gf did not go... Oh well

I know it sux....I had a wrasse do that once. Luckily I got him on the other end. I learned a lot about the boxes since then. I do know that LR rubble does not slow the flow plus I have pods living in it as well.

Yeah ill see what i can doo. I got a few Ideas. Just glad i got the tank clean and now i gotta suicide fish lol

I use poret foam on all of my freshwater intakes, it's porous enough to not restrict water flow. I would imagine you could cut a piece of it like a hotdog bun and place it over the teeth of the box.
