So today i went and picked up my 46gallon AGA i found on craigslist.
I paid $225 and got:
46gallon AGA bow tank
Black Pine Stand
about 85lbs of Live Rock
4month old Aqua C remora skimmer
36" PC lights needs new ballast probably gonna replace with 36" Nova Extreme Pro 6 light fixture.

After i got it all to my house and started removing all of the sand i noticed the bottom right part of the tank had a crack in it. http://www.atlantareefclub.org/forums/images/smilies/yuk.gif">http://www.atlantareefclub.org/forums/images/smilies/yuk.gif</a>

So im guessing im gonna have to start looking for a new tank already lol. Off to a great start. At the bottom is how the tank looked before i broke it down for the move so i know it holds water but i dont think i should chance it.

Nevermind about the crack turns out it was just silicone. Whoa close one

lol! for 255 bucks I should hope it's not cracked! I'm glad it's gonna work though. I would be totally pissed if I just bought a new tank and then had to turn around and buy another one because that didn't work. Why does saltwater have to be so expensive!!!

Spoken like a true reefer!!
And good luck with the build my friend had a 46 bow and it looked great!! But now he is getting a 72

lol im just getting in to this i just have always been told that about anything i also like drag racing and there it is also like that you have to pay to play!!! lol

So this is my plan so far:
Buying this t-5 fixture

i dont know what to do for a sump/refuge because my stand is only 32x9 on the inside

I guess ill use the aqua C remora skimmer since its pretty new and came with the tank.

Now i need to figure out what to do about the sump and what type of sand i want.

Ace, Nice tank. I would buy 2 more bags of 20lb sand from foster and smith. They are a great company I have ordered from them at least 10 times and they have all been great, and nonthing has gone wrong.

Thanks Tyler and thanks for the sand ill be sure to pass you a frag down the road once i start my reef farm lol

lol No problem. I would of given you a frag but I dont want your tank getting infested in that nasty algea I got.. YUCK

Ok so heres a pic of the sump i got from Sal today at SWC along with a used mag7 for my return.

also, there are 2 pics of my nano
1st pic is the day i got it and the horrid condition it was in
2nd pic of it is in its current state

threw a couple pics of my nem crab got a couple weeks ago from SWC it already molted lol i thought the molt was another crab at first lol.

Also need to get with someone to help drill my tank.

UPDATE time:
Got my tank drilled at Sals couple of days ago.
Got my plumbing settup awaiting the approval before gluing and have a question or 2 dont mind the dirty tank it still needs a little attention lol

Questions:
1. I have my aqua c remora skimmer settup on the drain side of my sump is that ok? its really the only place i think it will fit. I know i will have to drop the pump down below water level.
2.Im putting the refugium in the middle part of the sump bc its the biggest would that be the best benefit?
3.As you can see by the picture a 1" 90 MPT elbow does not come up to the trim, how can i fix this i obviously dont want the water line at the top of the 90 where it is currently located. and where can i get a black 90 that i will need?

Anymore input would be greatly appreciated from anyone thanks :) Really im just wondering if everything looks ok before i glue it

I'd do exactly as that link shows for the over flow. Spend a lil more money and get that calfo overflow made or coast to coast as some call it. Really makes a diff in keeping the top water skimmed. There are also some people on here who are very good at working with acrylic, perhaps they could hook it up for you. All in all, it's looking really good :) can't wait to see more pics.

Same build but new tank and stand ill get pics of the stand later but my lights also came in.
Current Nova Extreme PRO 6 bulb t-5 individual reflectors.
Me and Chrisjet drilled my tank tonight. He drilled 2 of the holes giving me tips and then let (encouraged) me to drill the next 2. Appreciate that Chris. First we kinda decided that i do a split return with a Squid on it for alternating flow which i think is gonna be pretty cool so stay tuned for the results. tommorrow it will be painted plumbed and everything moved from my 15 and 20 to the 46.
