I've heard of four ARC members who lost fish this past week because they lept from the tank.

Last week there was also a great, big beautiful full moon.

Coincidence?

I'm still doing some web surfing. Found http://www.encyclopedia.com/doc/1Y1-109096992.html">this</a> that suggests:

<span style="color: darkred;">"</span>[I]<span style="color: darkred;">Fish tend to scatter in an unpredictable manner when there's a full moon."</span></em>

[I]<span style="color: darkred;">"It changes where they [fish] live, pushing them into deeper water or maybe more shallow water."</span></em>

[I]<span style="color: darkred;">"Additionally, a full moon can send fish into more of a spawning mood."</span></em>

Another [IMG]http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2007/10/071019093814.htm">link</a> regarding spawning/full moon.

Interesting. Maybe that's why two clowns of ARC'ers hit the carpet recently? Spawning mood. (They were noted having significant interaction with their mates in the time before the leap.)

Anyone else have any thoughts?

Whether myth or fact that a full moon affects fish behavior, I'm going to make sure my tank is covered during a full moon!

<span style="font-size: 11px;">[P.S. ~ I personally didn't lose a fish; however, on the night of the full moon my plate coral that's been attached to a rock rather high up in the tank left its perch and is now finally in the sandbed. In its place is a tiny baby plate about the size of a small watch battery.]</span>

Weird youout the say about the plate...Both my Candy Cane and my trumpets split...again...maybe just coincedence..
