Fish feeding

In the past I used to try to feed my fish once per day. While doing this I noticed that the fish would generally eat good about 2-3 times per week. The majority of the time the food would be spit out by the fish and eaten by the clean up crew.

Lately, I've began feeding the fish only 2-3 times per week and the fish seem ready to eat (probably because they're hungry) but nothing is waisted. They totally eat like pigs. I'm starting to think that everyday feeding might not be the best.

Hmmm interesting I guess it all depends on the fish... I feed at least twice a day. There always hungry.

What are you feeding? My fish will spit out and re-eat food several times if it is large. Also, maybe your fish don't care for what you are feeding them, thus they only eat it when they are extremely hungry.
There are some fish(like lionfish) that are slow to digest and should only be fed 2-3 times a week, but most fish should, in my opinion, eat at least once daily.

I feed my juvenile clowns Sustainable Aquatics Dry Hatchery Diet once a day. They love that stuff and poop a ton even when given small quantities.

I feed them PE Mysis shrimp. They used to spit the food out, re eat it ect. Not any more. They all stay and eat everything now.
