Fish Foods

What is some food products to give our little friends? I use new spectrum marine pellets along with a shrimp pellet by Tetra, sea weed salad, frozen mysis shrimp and Omega One flakes.

The more variety you can get them to eat the better. You're off to a great start. Slip in some frozen Brine shrimp, reef blend, tubifex worms, blood worms, etc. If you have tangs, try Nori.

Does anyone actually like feeding flakes? My fish really don't dig them and I'm not sure they have a lot of nutritional value.

Its always been my understanding that flakes adds to much crap to the water. I use a couple different pellets, Mysis, brine and cyclopeeze

I feed two kinds of flake on a daily basis, I have no doubt they put nasties in the water to a degree. The good thing about flake though is with as much flow as I have the filter socks will catch the remainder in like 2 minutes flat so as long as i change out my socks they dont harm the water quality. I dont believe them to be anymore harmful than any other foods people feed.

Fish are fat and happy, they devour the stuff. Of course I do feed meaty foods every 2-3 days, PE, reef frenzy, cyclo, or blood worms.

My favorite frozen is Reef Frenzy and Rods. They are a mixture/blend of different goodies.
