Fish is just eating good

So my melanurus wrasse is eating me out of house and home. I cannot even come close to putting a hermit crab or a snail in the tank. The snails take a little longer but the crabs he destroys in a day. I may have to change my fish out. It makes me have to scrub the live rock all the time as there are no natural grazers. Pretty fish but he is crazy.

Eww. I was thinking about getting one for my frag tank.
How big is yours and what kind of snails do you have? Does he go after cleaner/fire shrimp?
Also do you keep your tank covered?

My old melanarus would pick astrena stars off the glass and eat them lol

About 3”. He eats all kinds. I don’t have a cover.
